Imagine yourself in a dark alley. No light, only darkness. No matter who you are, you will feel fear, stress, and anxiety. You will be afraid of falling because you can’t even see your own steps or what lies ahead. You will fear being attacked, even killed. You take small steps, or you stand still, paralyzed by fear.
Then suddenly, a light appears—so bright, so beautiful that it dispels the darkness. Gradually, you begin to see everything around you clearly. So, you start walking toward this light, never taking your eyes off it until you are dazzled by its rays. And at that moment, you feel better, safe, because you are no longer in the shadows.
This is exactly what Jesus represents. He is the light that appears in your darkest moments and pulls you out of them. He is the warmth that comforts you in the cold, the light that illuminates your path and guides you toward peace and love.
When He says in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world,” Jesus is not saying that He possesses light. NO. He is the light. The One who changes everything in our lives, who restores, heals, fills us with love, and transforms each of us.
Jesus came to this earth as a Savior. He gave Himself on the cross and died so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but be redeemed. He is the One who illuminates our lives through His presence and sacrifice. His light is so strong that it fills the entire universe and reaches each of us. Each of His rays touches us and draws us closer to Him. This light is so powerful that we cannot help but follow it, leaving behind the darkness in which we once lived.
You see, once Jesus, the light of the world, touches you, there is no turning back. Your life changes, and so do you, because you discover a level of goodness, love, compassion, holiness, communion, and discernment that you have never known before. Experiencing it means embracing it.
Let His light fill you and walk with Him—Jesus is waiting for you.
AMEN.
